Unemployment rates in Turkey rose by 0.2 points on monthly basis and 0.1 points in annual basis to 10.5 percent level, in the October term including September, October and November.
According to Turkstat data, number of unemployed persons aged 15 years old and over was at 3,147,000 persons with an increase of 104,000 persons increased in the period of October 2015 in Turkey compared to the same period of the previous year.
In the same period, non-agricultural unemployment rate rose to 12.6 percent by 0.1 point.
While youth unemployment rate including 15-24 age group fell to 19.3 percent by 0.4 point, unemployment rate for 15-64 age group rose to 10.7 percent by 0.1 point.
“Those who were employed in these period included 20.4 percent of employed people in agriculture, 20.0 percent employed in industry, and 7.6 percent employed in construction and 52 percent employed in services” said the statement of Turkstat.
Moreover, on annual basis employment in services rose by 0.8 percent while this decreased by 0.5 point in industry. Meanwhile, agriculture fell by 0.3 point and construction realized without any change against the same period of the previous year.
Labour force, in October term of 2015 saw 30 million 3 thousand persons, increased by 822 thousand persons against the same period of the previous year.
Labour force participation rate (LFPR) was at 51.6 percent level, rose by 0.6 point. LFPR increased by 0.4 points to 71.9 percent for men and by 0.9 points to 31.8 percent for women compared to the same period of the previous year.
